Today was the last formal step for us, in a very long journey. We went to the American Consulate and took our Oath. Kaiya's Visa is officially being processed, and once we pick it up tomorrow afternoon we are free to leave the country with her. Once we touch down in Newark, she will officially be an American Citizen~~! The consulate said approximately 3,000 adoptions have gone through this year, which is actually down from the 9,000 it was 6 years ago. We also took our "Red Couch" pictures. Many families that stay at the White Swan and adopt take these pictures. After watching many families do this, it was great for it to finally be our turn! Counting down the days!
